We’re excited to announced that The Exchange has become the latest National Theatre Live venue, in a partnership which will bring the best of London and West End theatre to the heart of Twickenham.

The highly popular National Theatre Live (NT Live) brings filmed theatre to local cinemas, giving access to sold-out productions at much cheaper prices. The best of British theatre is filmed live in an auditorium for cinema screens, giving audiences the experience of being at the theatre and having the best seat in the house.

The NT Live season at The Exchange kicks off with Present Laughter (19 September), the multi award-winning production of Noël Coward’s provocative comedy, featuring Andrew Scott (Vanya, Fleabag), captured live from The Old Vic. This will be followed by Prima Facie (24 October) with Jodie Cromer’s (Killing Eve) Olivier and Tony award-winning performance in Suzie Miller’s gripping one-woman play about a brilliant barrister.

Becky Shaw, The Exchange’s Programming and Partnerships Manager, commented:

“These aren’t normal screenings, it’s like going to the theatre but at the cinema.  Our audiences will be able to enjoy a fantastic evening – starting early, at 7pm – with performances by world-class actors, but from the comfort of The Exchange. Come along and enjoy a drink at the bar, refreshments during the interval and the best of British theatre, without the hassle of a trip into London!”

Screenings will run monthly, to coincide with the official NT Live release date, which will be announced here on The Exchange website. The Exchange is offering a special introductory opening ticket price of £10 for all seats for the first show.  Following screenings, tickets will be £18 (General) / £15 (Concessions).

NT Live is the world-leading distributor of broadcast and filmed-live theatre.  Since the first broadcast in 2009, more than 95 plays have been distributed to 4000 cinema screens in 74 countries. Productions have been seen by a global audience of over 11 million people.
