The Exchange Players
The Players are a revolving roster of experienced creatives and entertainers who perform at The Exchange in Twickenham.
Mainly performing new writing, their various performances include non-conventional theatre shows, traditional pantomimes, and talent showcase cabaret evenings.
Recent productions by The Exchange Players include A Night at The Musicals and The Great Belzoni. They are always looking for interesting and curious pieces to perform. Get in touch via Instagram.
Friends of The Exchange
The Exchange houses an eclectic mix of events and shows in the form of one-nights and short theatre runs which makes us a very unique venue; unlike traditional theatres which house multiple weeks of the same show. The Friends of The Exchange are a friendly team of volunteers who help us with the smooth running of our shows & events.
Volunteer Usher Duties
- Greeting patrons, checking tickets and directing patrons to the proper entry door into the theatre.
- Managing access to the theatre seating areas.
- Reporting ticket issues to the Supervisor or directing patrons to the Box Office.
- Answering questions and providing patrons with directions and other information.
- Assisting the bar team with a clear up of the auditorium post show.
- Distribution of promotional materials for upcoming shows.
- Ensuring patrons follow theatre safety policies and that all fire codes are enforced.
- Provide information and direct patrons to appropriate exits in the event of an emergency.
What you can expect from us:
- After you’ve helped out on five performances, you’ll receive a Friends of the Exchange card giving you two free tickets to a show of your choice (subject to availability)
- Occasional social event such as Volunteer Coffee Mornings.
- Opportunities to sit in and watch the show while volunteering (patrons needs are still the first priority).
- A chance to meet new friends and learn new skills
- Volunteer as often as you like with no contractual obligation.

Become a supporter
The Exchange is closely linked to Richmond Council and St Mary’s University, and a prominent part of the Twickenham community, hosting a wide range of business and education events and classes for the community alongside its wide and continuously varied programme of entertainment form theatre to gigs to comedy and beyond.
If your organisation is interested in supporting our work there are many ways we can offer marketing opportunities from sponsorship of shows like our annual pantomime, to screen advertising at our cinema performances, or including a feature in our seasonal brochure. We’re very much open to ideas and can happily tailor a package to fit your needs.
