The Exchange, has announced its summer 2025 programme featuring another season packed with theatre, talks, comedy, film and family events, reinforcing the venue’s reputation as a creative hub for arts and culture in the region.
Music features with artists from the worlds of jazz, rock and pop, soul and funk. The Exchange is delighted to
be hosting Leee John of Imagination on his 40th Anniversary tour (1 May) who will be playing from his back
catalogue of soul classics. Jazz singer, Clare Teal, will also be bringing her anniversary tour celebrating 25
years in the business (9 May). Multi-instrumentalist and producer Morris “Mo” Pleasure plays on 25 April.
Other musical performances come from the Marquee Club All Stars, featuring Mel Gaynor from Simple
Minds, who play a musical tribute to the iconic Marquee Club (31 May). Paul Wheeler and first-class five-
piece band play the classics of American folk-pop in Fire and Rain & American Pie (12 April).
In the theatre, Samuel Beckett’s classic play, Krapp’s Last Tape, directed by Academy Award nominee,
Stockard Channing and starring David Whitehead is playing for a two-night run on 4 and 5 July. The hard-
hitting play Doorman, written by Geoff Thompson, will also run for two nights on 7 and 8 May, directed by
Michael Vale and performed by Richie McDonald. Author and actor, Paterson Joseph, (Wonka, Peep
Show) is returning with Sancho&Me – For One Night Only (25 June).
For fans of comedy, the much loved and well-respected comedian, Simon Evans (Radio 4, Live at The
Apollo) is playing his Have We Met? tour on 15 May. Exchange Comedy Club is also back with
Laugh Out Proud! (6 June) and Climate Change is No Joke Special! (27 June), part of the
Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival 2025.
The Exchange has been selected as a festival hub for Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival 2025, 13-29 June
which celebrates the theme of cultural reforestation, featuring a variety of dance, music, exhibitions and
theatre events exploring our relationship with nature. The Exchange will host an immersive art installation in
the main theatre, Fading, as well as two other installations in smaller spaces – Sound Roots (22 June) and
Exchange With Nature (28-29 June) plus other environmentally themed events including films Microcomos,
the 2025 Oscar winning, FLOW and the Grass Roots acoustic session with bands from local youth charity,

Family entertainment runs throughout the summer with regulars, the monthly Saturday Family Film
Club, Bring Your Own Baby Comedy and Comedy Club 4 Kids. Plus, holiday shows in the theatre
including The Museum of Marvellous Things (15 & 16 April) based on the book by Kristina
Stephenson; the 5-star show, Teach Rex Live! (18 May), Top Secret – The Magic of Science at half
term (29 May) and the cast of The Great Belzoni return with another whodunit (27-29 June).

pleased to be part of our local council’s Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival which runs the last two weeks of June
