Shakespeare’s Women – 20 March 2026

After two acclaimed, sold-out readings at Shakespeare’s Globe last year featuring Tamsin Greig, we were pleased to welcome a fresh staging of Lorien Haynes’ play, directed by Jude Kelly.

Blending dark humour with a powerful contemporary lens, the piece brings together eight of Shakespeare’s female characters, reimagined in the present day. Set within a domestic abuse support group, these women—drawn from different plays and centuries—meet to talk, reflect, and confront their shared experiences. As their conversations unfold, long-held secrets emerge, highlighting how little has changed over time and prompting a striking question: what if these women had the chance to outlive their stories and define themselves beyond the roles written for them?
