WE’VE HAD A SPRING MAKEOVER!
The Exchange has had a spring makeover with the installation of a super-size vibrant new window display.
The 5m by 6m artwork spans two floors of The Exchange and faces onto London Road, directly opposite Twickenham railway station, and sits alongside St Mary’s University brand signage.
The artwork’s contemporary design aligns with our new brand look, which we launched last autumn with the website and brochure redesign. It reflects the broad range of events that take place at The Exchange, including comedy, music, film, theatre, talks and family entertainment, featuring artists who have performed at the venue representing each genre.
Becky Shaw, Programme and Partnerships Manager commented: “We’re beyond thrilled with our new window art. Not only is it bold and uplifting but it gives us stand out and increases The Exchange’s visibility in this busy part of Twickenham. It’s a strong representation of the range of events at our venue which we hope will resonate with the community. It’s a wonderful addition to Twickenham’s vibrant and diverse streetscape and we encourage everyone to stop to take a look when passing!”
The new window artwork comes just before the launch of the summer programme which features a packed line-up of theatre, talks, comedy, film and family events.
The season opens with legendary soul singer Leee John of IMAGINATION who is touring with his 40th anniversary Flashback tour, and award-winning jazz vocalist Clare Teal is bringing her 25th anniversary tour. In the theatre Geoff Thompson’s one man play DOORMAN is coming for a two-night run. One of the UK’s best loved and respected comedians, Simon Evans, will appear. Other highlights include live music from Carnaby Army, Marquee Club All Stars featuring Mel Gaynor from Simple Minds as well as a range of film, and family shows.
The Exchange has been selected as one of the venues for the Richmond-upon-Thames Arts & Ideas Festival, which is on the theme of cultural reforestation and will be a showcase of dance, music, exhibitions and theatre events exploring our relationship with nature. The Exchange will be host to an immersive art installation in the main theatre as well as off shoot events
